Hit the cruise-in

Post by Mr_Roboto »

Well, I got the Astro out of the garage and hit the cruise-in. Got some looks with the TPI engine in there, but most the old people ignored it. I don't think a lot of em realized what it was. :) Probably about 30 miles in all tonight, so I'm at 40-50 miles on the reincarnated TPI engine.

I hung out in the Pontiac section. Can you tell?

Old fords are awesome. Something from a time gone by.

I put the pic title as an MCSS and it's actually an El Camino SS. The grille was for some sort of special package and is aparrently super rare. I've thought about making something like that for my Astro for some time, so I figured it was a good thing to get a pic of.
This is actually an El Camino SS. Very nice, very stock. The grille came on it. I thought it was a good example for the Astro maybe.

This 4-4-2 was clean enough to eat off the engine on. Probably meant for the show circuit. I would have loved to be his chromer, that guy made out.

A far away shot of the 4-4-2. If you look at the hood liner you can see it's actually stitched leather.

Liked this chevy. Then again I have a thing for cars in matte black too. Just something about it. He said he got real primer, I thought it was the Blitz Black at first.

Glad to see the Astro in the sunshine. Yes....You could get a 421 tri power in a Catalina. I knew someone that had one.
