My daughter and I went out to the Volksfest in Moxee, WA, today around noon. I was a bit surprised at the turnout.... much lower than the last couple of years. Certainly less front engined/liquid cooled VWs there. Still some nice and/or different rides on display.

This was one of the nicest, with a good looking exterior, interior and engine.

Loved the redline tires on this one!

Wasn't quite sure what the theme was with this one...

This was a very sweeeet ride.

Only a couple of Baja Bugs. This was the nicest.

This was a pretty nice Karmann Ghia.

Wowza! I bet this hauls ass!

This was a little strange. (Little being the key word here...)

The VW Things were parked in their normal spot.

I didn't recognize these rear taillights, but they are pretty cool.

This would be the one I'd want to own.

Busses...

I'd love to have one of these. This thing was better than showroom fresh.I didn't realize the side compartment ran all the way across. Cool!

A few dune buggies.

Though not a VW, still cool. An old Dodge A-100 motorhome.

It's funny you should mention that.... As I was editing the pics, I realized I'd forgotten to take any of her with the VWs. She's getting older and was spending less time with her old man... While I was looking, taking pics, she was usually on the phone setting up a play date for the afternoon, along with buying lunch and eating it at one of the picnic tables.

Cool, Matty. Were there any Syncros or Vanagons at all?

I was at the Tin Can Rallye (old travel trailers) in Lynden. (Our frineds Gloria and Earl Pearson from Selah invited us so we went with their daughter, our best friend)I was suprised at all the cool old cars used to tow the old travel trailers. Hopefully I'll get around to posting pics.

One Vanagon Westfalia. Not a Syncro in sight. (I'd have gotten a picture of any Syncros present!)

Yes, don't hesitate on posting up those pics Tom! I'd like to go to a show like that too.

It's rather amazing. The last VW rolled off the Mexican assembly line in June of 1983. That's 28 years. And they're as popular now as they ever were. Thanks for posting the pics, Matt. I don't know anyone that doesn't like the VW.
