As my left hand becomes more and more of a handicap for typing, there is a likelihood you might not be seeing as much of me.I want to let everyone know for me to type anything is frustrating. It takes a long ,long time.Lynne told me yrs ago as I posted more my typing skills would improve and with spell check she was right. To see that fade away,it something I can't even begin to tell you guys how that makes me feel.
So I might pop in from time to time when I have something new on a project to post.
Justice,Zam,Lifted,it's been one hell of a ride since 1995 or 1993 hasn't it??. I've learn alot and changed alot.
Thanks Guys,
Gary

I saw a guy that had no arms that held a pencil on his teeth to type. It was amazing to see how fast he could type hunt and peck style like that.

Frankly, G, I don't give a rat's ass how bad your typing looks on the screen, I'll know what you mean.
If it's physically painful, that's one thing, but don't worry too much aobut what it looks like for our sake.

Do what you can, but something else I will point out is that just like learning it if you keep going you could regain some of the speed you had. The trick to life is to keep moving. Just my opinion.

KH-I know you don't know this, but I found as of yesterday by being admitted to two hospitals with testing that I had a minor stroke. When that happened we don't know.I just got back.So my best bud,in a cruel way the pencil idea it's too funny to me.Sorry if I am being overly sensitive. The fact of that becoming me brings to light how hard it would be.I think you would understand that if you tried to think of it as if where you.
Again,as I said,I will try to post progress on my projects as they happen.Much beyond that I don't think is possible.

Gary I didn't intend for it to be mean. My father had a huge stroke last year and is lucky to be walking and talking so trust me I know where you are coming from. The intention was simply that there are other ways to do things. If you cant type properly with out pain perhaps hunt and peck would help you continue doing the things you like. Years ago my buddy broke his hand and had to use a pencil with a eraser to type. Just making it harder to access porn damn near killed him.
Sincerly I wish you the best and hope that next year will find you in better health I know that you have had a really bad run the last few months and it is easy to feel the world is crashing around you.

If you aren't the hunt and peck type you could change your keyboard layout to right hand specific.
Dvorak is an alternative to the standard Qwerty keyboard. There are two hand, left hand only and right hand only versions.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvorak_Simplified_Keyboard
Having never learned to type properly on a Qwerty keyboard (despite working in the computer industry), I became a proficient typist within two days of switching to two hand Dvorak. I've changed all my computers to it, but haven't bothered to rearrange the keys on my Qwerty keyboards. I printed a cheat sheet of the Dvorak layout and had it taped to the bottom of my monitor for the first couple days till I was fully comfortable with the new layout.
It's free and easy to switch a computer to the Dvorak layouts.
Windows PCs
Right click - On the task bar
Select - Toolbars
Select - Language bar
Right click - On the Language bar
Select - Settings
Under the Settings tab, in the Installed services box, click - Add
Under Keyboard layout/IME select - United States-Dvorak for right hand
Click - OK
Click - OK
Hope you find this useful.
