It's now official. I'm scheduled for surgery on 9 May 12. The orthopaedist will open up the foot, peel back internal muscles, shave the bottom of the
cuboid bone (with a chisel) to, hopefully, reduce the possibility of future ulcers, and try to stabilize the foot using internal fixators.
I'd still like him to provide me with a loaner and fix the foot in the shop for later pickup.

Mike this is my single post to your thread.Because of my recent exposure to the medical system dealing with a primary doctor and numerous specialty doctors,my suggestion to you is for you to make very clear what is your goals and then ask for what is a reasonable time span to achieve those goals. No B.S. =; Then hold them to that.

Better yet, get him to give you an affordable new one then rebuild the old one so you could keep it
for a backup.
Good luck with the surgery. We'll be rooting for you.
