Teapot Dome Gas Station in Zillah, WA

Coming back from the Tri-Cities last weekend we were taking the Yakima Valley Highway and wandered through Zillah and stopped off to check out the Teapot Dome Gas Station in its new location. Pretty cool!

This gas station used to be a few miles away from its current location and sold gas until 5+ years ago. The city of Zillah bought it with intentions of restoring it. Took them a few years to come up with the money, but they did. They moved it into town onto a new lot that they turned into a little rest area. I think the goal is to make it into a local tourist info place.

I applaud those city fathers. :supz: Here in Orlando every unique building has just been bulldozed to make room for another boring project.

Love the old school gas stations, that one is very unique. Glad to see that someone thought enough of the past to preserve it into the future...thanks for the pics Matt

+1

Yet another thng I like about Bellingham is the character the donwtown area has. The burbs could be Anywhere, USA, but downtown and Fairhaven (where we went for breakfast, Skip ) has 100 plus year old buildings.

Nice shots, Matty.
