How long can someone drive with a bad intake manifold gasket? Will it do any terrible damage if not fixed right away. I still have good power, it just vibrates a bit when I get up around 50 mph to at least 65 I don't really go much faster than that, then when I let off gas it smooths out some. Otherwise it's totally smooth up until 50mph. Is this a terribly difficult job for the basic home mechanic. Also have oil leaking from my valve cover, I'm thinking this is a fairly easy job!
Thank You!

Its not a overly complex job, but you do need ( lets say 3 days ) for the repair
1, day one...label and take everything apart
2, day two...pop new gasket on, and start to button everything back up
3, day 3 ( providing its been 24hrs since you put the gasket on, just for safe measure ) crank it over and drive away
Several threads on the subject that I and others have posted, here are a few links to give you an idea...

Good luck and let us know how it turns out...

The symptoms you describe don't sound like a manifold gasket. I think I'd be checking some other causes of the vibrations.
