Re: Adding OEM Limited Slip
Do you have any good offroad truck/4x4 shops around? This would not be a difficult installation for an experienced drivetrain mechanic. I had a mechanic install a Torsen unit in my Astro in under 2 hours.

Seatbelt Question on ‘24 Savana
Does anyone know why this stitching is on the webbing of all the right side seatbelts on my Savana passenger van? It’s not on the driver’s side belt, but is on all the passenger’s side belts. It keeps the buckle from easily sliding down, but it can be pulled over it with some effort. It really trigg...

Re: 2019 Express 3500 Extended Regear help needed
Let me know how you do the speedo recalibration. I would consider going to a 3.73 gearset in mine for towing.

Sorry, I listed the wrong part number. It should be #95K2410GEARKIT This seems like a reasonable price: https://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p10697_aam_95k2410gearkit_ring_and_pinion_kit_4.10_ratio_fits_9.5_i.html?srsltid=AfmBOopGv1hoV6lJG1mKe_lE2wivCnHtViEJHcSoHcZfWXe-WdgXRuiC https://cmgearworks.com/p...

Re: Always on cigarette lighter to ignition only on
I wanted a switched power source to run a USB outlet for my phone in the dash. After checking the upfitter manual, I found that the power supply to the in-dash 110v outlet is ignition-switched. Since it’s such a low power draw, I tapped the hot wire to the inverter. It works great and no battery dra...

The new wheel looks and feels much better. I just wish the grip were thicker, like most newer cars.MountainManJoe wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 8:34 pm I'm tempted to get one just for the leather wrap. The plastic one is such garbage.

The diff is what GM now calls “differential, rear fully automatic locking”. AKA: the ol’ G80 Gov-Lok (or Gov- 💣) I’ll check for the Etsy seller and post when I find him Edit: I couldn’t find the original seller for the center caps on Etsy, but a Google search shows him selling on Pinterest now. http...

This morning’s project: installing a PML #11129 aluminum differential cover. The finned aluminum helps keep temps down when towing and the extra .6 quarts of gear oil can’t hurt. A magnetic drain plug and a side fill plug will make future oil changes much easier.

Re: New guy in WNY scored a new ‘24 Savana 3500
Suspension changes were my first priority to maximize handling abilities.
Bilstein shocks front and rear.
Hellwig 1-1/8” rear sway bar.
Verdict? Ehh, it’s still a 2-1/2+ ton box on wheels, but it’s a n improvement

Wheels are OE Wheels CV75A 18x8 Sierra replicas with Yokohama G015’s in LT265/60R18E. They’re same diameter as the stock 16’s, but 3/4” wider and 119 load rating (stockers are 120… not enough difference to matter in this application). Center emblems were custom made by a guy I found on Etsy. They ha...

Re: 2024 steering wheel audio controls
I realize the OP hasn’t been here in a while, but thought I’d share in case he returns or it’s helpful to someone else. My 24 came with the base radio and steering wheel , since they cancelled the better stereo, bluetooth and steering wheel controls options after I ordered. I bought the leather wrap...

Re: 2019 Express 3500 Extended Regear help needed
I am working to regear my 2019 Express 3500 extended van. I am at 3.42 now and I need to go to 4.10s. I am having trouble sourcing the gears for this setup. Nothing specifically states which gears to get. I would prefer to get AAM gears. My axle is (I am pretty sure), a 9.5 12 bolt. It is a 9.5” 12...

New guy in WNY scored a new ‘24 Savana 3500
Hey all from Buffalo,NY. Glenn here, I’m new to this forum, but not new to GM vans. I previously had a bunch of Astros, ranging from a’92 Mark III conversion to an ‘05 loaded LT. My newest ride is a brand new 2024 Savana LT passenger 3500 standard wb with the L8T 6.6L V8. I waited ten months after o...
