Got an alignment today, would like your thoughts
I recently put new wheels/tires on my van. It's been about a year since my last alignment, so I figured it was a good idea to get one done, especially since I have the lifetime alignment at Firestone anyways. Here is the printout I got when I picked up the van tonight. Everything appears to be withi...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
New idler arms and shocks came in. Pretty stoked. Can't wait till Saturday.
If anyone wants my old shocks for free (plus shipping) let me know. They are 10 years old and have 85k on them, I'm just on a replacing binge.

Re: Van won't start after rain.
Astroturf and Cobra... Thank you for the quick responses that really allowed me to complete this job in one night. Timelessbeing... Old people don't drive much, they die. I looked for a van for about 6 months when I stumbled across the crapiest craigslist ad with no pictures that just said "200...

Re: Van won't start after rain.
Success... I got the ignition coil out and the new one back in last night. It was still very humid last night and it started right up once it was changed out, the yellow sparks in the dark were also gone. It started this morning with no hesitation and it was still very humid and gross out. Tonight w...

Re: At wits end with 2000 Astro
1Gary - I know, but it was on my list of things to check. I do know when I changed my fuel filter recently it looked like it hadn't been changed for the last 50-60k (I've owned it for 25k). So I'd assume the pump had been working extra hard. SpyAstro - Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear you have you...

Re: Van won't start after rain.
Yeah, I don't see any either. Now I have that back together, still not starting. Dinner time.
After dinner I'll look for a spark show in the dark and changing the coil.
If the vans not fixed tonight, I can't get to work, no car to borrow tomorrow.

Re: Van won't start after rain.
I also just read something about WD-40.... Would it do any harm to quickly hit the inside of the cap with WD-40 in an attempt to displace moisture? Has anyone ever done this? From Snopes.com ~ "If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to star...

Re: Van won't start after rain.
Did you pull the 2 screens out of the Distributor base when you had the cap and rotor off? Jim Screens? This is the first I'm hearing about them. A quick internet search tells me that if these are clogged, the cap will not breathe properly and will trap moisture. Awesome. I will have to take a look...

Van won't start after rain.
My van will not start after rain. Its a 2000 Safari AWD with 85k on it. I've owned it for just over a year and never had any issues with it starting until this past month. I just replaced the rotor, cap, wires and plugs with ACDelco parts hoping that it would solve the problem, but it still doesn't ...

Re: At wits end with 2000 Astro
What made you decide that it was the fuel pump? Also, did the starting issues have anything to do with rain?

Turns out my idler arms are shot and my old dry rotted tires are on their way out in more way than one. Just ordered some MOOG idler arms and Monroe Sensa-Tracs from Rock Auto. Used coupon code "40876371104707" for an extra 5% off. Also, planning to use the buy 3 get the 4th for free rebat...

Re: Tips on Changing Spark Plugs & Wires
Finally got around to doing my plugs and wires last night. Plugs/wires took me about 6 hours from start to finish. I had to remove the glove box and dog house to start so that took some time. I also did one side 100% before moving the the other which made the job take a little longer. Considering I ...
