that sucks dude.
icbc is a joke.
get them to let you take your parts off, and then work on the payout, if the parts aren't stock to the van, they cant increase value

Re: 233c swap successful, no speedo and abs/parkbrake light
Hi and Happy New Year, I also have 233c tcase from a 98 s10 blazer that i am installing in 2003 AWD astro. I also picked up the dash switch from a 95 s10 since it is smaller and will be easier to fit in dash trim. I too am dragging my feet as far as splicing the wiring harness. I have wipr off the ...

Re: Two questions on front suspension stuff?
got to get the bottoms off too, it'll relieve a lot of pressure that is keeping them in there. I wouldn't worry to much about "nicking" the arm, I've done the tops on two different Astros and cut the bottoms with a cold chisel/ angle grinder with a cut off disk, available at any laps, or h...

Re: Two questions on front suspension stuff?
did you cut the heads of top and bottom? I figured out that you had to drill almost right through.

Re: 4.10's in 2005 AWD
if you have awd, match the gearing front and rear, if you have 4wd, a .01 difference in gears (the "taller" set in the rear) is not a problem
so. if you are re-gearing an awd, it is important to match the gears front and rear.

Re: 4.10's in 2005 AWD
most hardcore 4xers use a slightly taller gear in the rear, so the back end "pushes" the front, for a little more controllability, as the 4x4 is not used on pavement, it doesn't really pose a problem.

photo van got it right.
ive been researching this swap for a buddy with a lifted 97awd, I figure that if you grab the front and rear driveshafts out of a 99+ it should be okay, I never had to notch the cross member as t-low did, and it took all of about 2 hours to swap into my 03,

Re: im going friggin crazy
I had similar issues on my 97, I dropped the rear d.shaft, and tightened, and re-peened the pinion nut. no more problems. I think its a 36mm socket needed.

x2 on the reflush.
I had to do it 3 times to get rid of the binding at parking lot speeds and tight cornering.

Re: 233c swap successful, no speedo and abs/parkbrake light
haven't got the shifter hooked up yet, so I guess I have it set up with a 9/16's wrench!!! downside is I have to crawl underneath to switch, luckily the loose river rock holds the van still nicely in neutral. I hope to copy lifted's style, but after seeing how photo-van did his I might create a hybr...

Re: 233c swap successful, no speedo and abs/parkbrake light
bit of a follow up. the abs and parking brake lights cleared themselves after 100 feet of driving. feels nice, smooth, and as I verified at the river, all modes work. though 4low feels faster than I think it should. now, linkage, hopefully will be able to copy liftedawd's style, while using salvaged...

Re: 233c swap successful, no speedo and abs/parkbrake light
Shane, the NV136 vss sensor near the top of the output shaft housing is the vss that inputs to the PCM (speedo), the other two are front and rear driveshaft vss and input to transfer case shift module. ....... The air gap on on the vss to reluctor ring is critical as well. If you're getting abs/bra...

Re: 233c swap successful, no speedo and abs/parkbrake light
plan to do a trip up vedder when I have the bugs worked out, roasted my brakes on the way down last time I went so I am really looking forward to a low range. hows does one recalibrate? I have all the vss sensors wired together at this point, is there one that does the speedo exclusively? to clarify...
