Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

That's great! I'm glad it worked out. Looks good! I just finished installing my transfer case and wiring too, works awesome and almost looks stock... I'll write another thread on that too.

Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

The rear leafs are a direct bolt in. I did have to shorten the leaf pack bolt or else it would have prevented the axle from seating onto the leaf properly. The leaf pack bolt is right in the middle of the leaf. It just has too much thread showing past the nut so I cut it down with a zip disk on a gr...

Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

We have very close to the same overall miles re: idler arms. Thanks for the greasing tip. I'm curious why you went with the s10 truck springs (1350#) rather than the s10 Blazer springs (1450#). Not a huge difference, but inquiring minds??? I've never been able to find a rating for my stock 2+1 spri...

I just put them on the way they said on the box. Looking at my Camaro brakes I see your point. Hmmm....

Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

Nice ride, nice write up. Thank you for the link to the springs; I've been looking to upgrade from my axle blocks and the springs are 20% off this weekend! :guitar: RE your ball joints. I've had my torsion bars cranked to the max for 8 years now and 70,000 miles. I now need to replace a ball joint ...

Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

Now how did you manage to fix the Steering Shaft? did you had extended or took it off from another truck? how did you got around that area? On the '03 the steeri...

Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

My bike is the Beta. Love it! Used to ride a 2006 Honda CRF450x. The other bike is my wifes 2008 CRF 150r expert (big wheel version). I'm not on the dualsport forum. If you want some great riding, check out the FVDRA. BC Nickelmines is the location. Here's a video from the weekend... Getting off top...

Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

Great looking van, great looking area. Of course I'm biased because I own the exact doppleganger of yours and live in BC as well...Our van (Astrid) spent May 2-4 up in the Bridge River Valley and came back via the Highline. Great vans for BC, they're a nice place to stay dry when you're in the back...

It's really close but no contact. I did have to modify the lower fender flares a little.

Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

Now that the sub-frame is bolted back on it's time to do the parking brake bracket. It's allready removed from the last step and if you look at where it used to be you will see why you have to do this first. http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg11/mwhizard/IMG_7053.jpg So now you need to remove the ...

Re: DIY lift kit 2003 Safari

Step by step, sort of, or how I did it anyway... First off, make sure all your tire pressures are the same and measure the ride height all around. I measured at the wheel arch directly in line with the center of each wheel. Write these numbers down. This is for bragging rights later. So now you have...
