Re: TPS on 90 safari with Model 220 TB

High idle on a throttle body motor a lot of times is a gasket shriveling up and sucking into the intake, or it could be a vacuum hose some how leaking. Check around the throttle body.

Re: TPS on 90 safari with Model 220 TB

You have to open the throttle to see the voltage changes. The gray wire is the 5 volt reference, the black is the ground and the dark blue is the return signal to show the computer the value. But than your digital multimeter samples at a very slow rate, to see a glitch you have to have a digital sto...

Re: Empty the Fuel Tank

No seriously, use the test wire. It's why GM put it there. I'm on forums where fires are started from costly mistakes like that, I'm talking burnt down shop disasters. If I test a fuel pump out of the tank I always use solvent for fuel.

Re: LT1 SWAP

Drove the van today, woot woot. I was missing the power to the tranny at the plug in. I have to move the park neutral switch by hand so I was thinking of taking the shift shaft from the astro and putting it in the Caprice tranny. Has anyone done this as when rebuilding a trans I don't think you have...

Re: Jeff@AutoComputerTech.com

WOW, something is so screwed up in this puter that it caused a dead short that ruined a month old new Delco battery. The thing won't even take a charge, it just keeps kicking out the charger. Put the stock puter back in and jumped the batt from the other 'Stro and the LS1 started right up and runs ...

Re: I need your guy's help with rough idle issue

Take the spark plugs out and re gap them, while there out do a compression test, 5 compression strokes each not crank until gauge stops. Also record the first compression stroke and remove all plugs with a screwdriver in throttle body. 91 Astro van, lot of miles, Timing chain, sticky valves, bad dis...

Re: LT1 SWAP

A couple more Questions for the LT1 swap crowd, on the 98 Astro C100 connector on the firewall there are 2 VSS wires, a dk green one circuit 389 and a dk green/white circuit 817. witch one goes to the speedo. The Astro has a VSS signal wire coming from the ABS controller, yellow/blk circuit 1827 goi...

I can't answer your question from experience but a 1995 Chevy C3500 comes with ether a 4L60E or a 4L80E, so I will say yes.

Re: Rear end floating around??? Help!

I don't do alignments (very expensive equipment). I have used a tape measure and the wife driving forward and back to make the steering wheel straight but I go to the tire store, who don't pay there help much so I have returned to get it right. That's why I said for you to take it to the best shop. ...

Re: Does your van do this?

The Alignment won't change with the lift as long as the van is level. If the back is higher or lower than the front that will change the dynamics of the angles.
