There's not much better than taking your son out on opening day of deer season. Black powder season to be exact. My youngest son Daniel and I went two days in a row. We saw plenty of turkey but no deer until we were leaving the camp. The guns were in the back so we didn't get a shot... Oh well. General gun season starts on December 6th!! Woohoo!
Me & Daniel after a morning in the stand..in was coooolllldddd!
Daniel with his 22 plinker ready for action (looking for some squirrels :>)
Me without my beard...feeling kind of breezy under there...

Yrs ago I went to a backyard BBQ that served bear steaks. It was just the sweetest best steaks I have ever had.
And, ya know, its what it will mean to him when he is the age you are now and he looks back on it. It means a lot now, but he'll really appreciate and admire it then. And after your gone.

Nice mule, makes going deep into the woods easier/funner.
"F"ing love the van
Good luck with the rest of the season. Ever try turkey? I use to hunt alot, got bored with it but I do still miss turkey hunting.
Any boar that way?
Hey stomp13, no I haven't been turkey hunting but I may give it a try this spring. I've been invited back to the hunt camp we were at for the spring turkey season. I've eaten it though and it's great fried up into turkey nuggets :>) Mmmmmm.
There are some pigs up in the panhandle but we didn't see any. I know of a place closer to home here in central Florida though were they are all over the place. The state considers them a nuisance and there is open season on them with no bag limits.

Nice pics sandfly. I was hoping to have a couple with a buck or two posted. Anyhow, the stand we were in on Friday was actually nicknamed "Bear Paw" because the feeder nearby has been raided by the black bear that roam these woods. Ha! Don't know if I'd eat one though. I've heard it tastes real funky...I guess GEJ would differ on that though. I'd try it if it looked good I guess.
