Can anyone here advise me on buying a new clutch kit for my S-10 4x4 truck? its a 93 with 5 speed and 4.3 TBI.
I need one that can handle some towing. Thank You, Mark

Clutch question
Recently bought a 1989 Astro RS from Florida. Replaced stock engine witha 1997 5.7 vortec with TBI and replaced transmission with rebuilt 700R4 with mild shift kit.

I do have a clutch behind my 4.3.
I didnt do any special searching, just took what the store gave me when I told them to gimme a clutch for my make/yr/model.
It is a "dynopak" brand if memory still serves me correctly.
No idea what else is out there... Sorry...
Just curious though, does your 93 5 speed use a Borg Warner WCT5, or a Getrag NV3500 transmission?

Its real easy to spot the difference if you can see the bellhousing:markmitchinnh wrote:I believe its a T5 but I am not sure.
NV transmission will be one solid aluminum body that includes the bellhousing as well as the transmission case all in 1 cast aluminum body.
A BW T5 will have a separate aluminum bellhousing, with 4 bolts that allow you to pull the transmission away, while the bell-house & Clutch are still installed.
