The other day I was driving down Broadway (the main road) at about 25 because the city was re-paving the road, lane by lane to keep it open. There were some runners on the sidewalk, and they suddenly darted into the road. I hit the brakes, but they looked up and saw me before they got into my lane. They stopped running and waved me on, so I took off again. As soon as I got up next to them, they took off running again and one ran right into the side of the van.
Nearly scared me to death, but he kept on running again and vanished. I saw who it was, though. It was one of the three that tried to steal the van a few months back.
I'm fairly certain he was ok- he mainly hit it with his hands, I think, and the van wasn't dented or scratched. I haven't heard from the police, so I guess all's well.
