Aftermarket radio install

Post by Bgrahovac »

I have some questions about installing an aftermarket radio. My Express is a 2005 2500. I'm installing a double din radio and have(foolishly) cut the connector from the stock radio wiring harness. I'm having trouble finding a schematic that shows what all the wires in that harness are for. GM for some reason likes to use orange for multiple things.

Has anyone hard wired an aftermarket radio in one of these? I want to make sure everything works like door/key chime, radio off when the door is opened, etc. If anyone can point me in the right direction or has a step by step of the process you did I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
