I might have missed it,but how many miles did you put in over the 3 days? also, was it 1 continuos(sp) bike trip, or did you do an area then hop in the van and travel to the next?
This is how i imagine the smokies to look...
We camped in one location. The 1st ride was on the way to our campsite. The second ride we drove the van over to Blackwater falls and day three we were able to ride from our campsite to Moonrocks...as far as miles...not many really, maybe a total of 20...but easily 3 plus hours each ride due to the difficulty of the terrain...
Davis, WV is only 1/2 dozen miles or so from camp, so we were able to hit the local brewpub up for pints, and get our Growlers filled for the night...It was an awesom weekend to say the least!

Also if you look to the right in this pic you can see a line running through the mountain...we rode that trail two weeks earlier to the falls I posted here last week that you mentioned it would be a great postcard for WV...now that was awesome! 10 miles, 1000ft elevation gain...and fun going back downhill!

Glad to see you could keep your priorities straight,LOL thanks for the info.
I wondered if maybe that was an old rail line turned bike path, now I know. You sure do have some nice areas to bike around.
And I still think they should make that falls pic a postcard

The old rail line is an unofficial Rail Trail...undeveloped...easily rideable...And as you can see beautiful...Blackwater River Trail...
The area around Canaan Valley is loaded with stuff to do. Skiing, White Water, Mtn Biking, Fishing, Hunting, Camping, Hiking and on and on...
