Well, i found a new noise on big blue... Was hoping it was a rock stuck in the calipers somewhere making the squeeking/squeel/clunking sounds but nooooo...

Found a bad inner bearing:

Question is, it looks like there has been wear against, what i assume to be, a removeable spacer. Is this removeable, replaceable? The the race on the new bearing clears the spacer but i'm still leary of this wear.....

There is wear from the spacer and from part of the inner seal rubbing. Wish it wasn't raining now or else i'd investigate myself.

Definitly some wear. I don't see any problem with a new bearing. Remove the ABS sensor and clean everything real good. I think you'll be OK. \:D/

Well the rain is clearing now! I'll look into it and let you know how it goes. Going to help my buddy finish exhaust work on his built up 82 el camino before the cruise starts here tomorrow and saturday! Thanks.

That's not a spacer, that's the seal. Get 2, one for the other side, replace the races too.

When i took the spindle apart further it looks like the machined surface that has the wear from the bearing is all one piece with the spindle assembly ("not replaceable"). The actual spindle is pressed in through a hole in the assembly. I'll take a closer look again tomorrow. The other area of wear is on the face of the plastic backing, from the inner seal's metal lip rubbing on the plastic.
