I knew this was coming... Let the excuses begin..

But seriously, my elderly Mom fell and broke her ankle on Thursday and given her current health conditions, she isn't doing real well. In fact I'm headed back to the hospital in about an hour or so.

Well, I spent a couple of hours in the shop on Sunday, but I never actually did anything van related. It wasn't that I didn't want to, but I just couldn't get to it. I did get the area cleaned up quite a bit and took care of some mini-projects that were in the way.

My 5.3L, transmission and transfer case are hidden behind this stuff.

After a little shuffling, putting stuff away, and sweeping, I've now got a bit of room to work.

Next weekend I'm headed to the mountains to our cabin, so there will be no Safari work for sure.

Well Matt, you did a heck of a lot better than me.
I had a heart attack last week so I doubt I will be doing much work on the van for a wee bit...

Well...that wasn't part of the plan. Take care of yourself...take your meds...do like the Drs. tell you. You're far too young to check out.

Now look.I won't allow anything to happen to you [-( .That would leave me all alone with these people. :yikes: 8-[ Are you kidding me??. #-o Damm, you got to take better care of yourself.

Clogged artery??.(sp)They put in a stent??. Been there done that three times.Hehe-that's why Deano want me to finish my van.He knows I willed it to him so he would have to finish it. :muhaha:

Seriously. You might feel better than ever before, but take it slow.It does take time to come back from that. Can't tell you I am a poster boy for a diet because that isn't the truth. All I am going to say is a good heart doctor and primary care doctor are key. That might take some adjustments to get the right ones.

Keep us updated as you find out more and if you have any questions,PM me.

Yup Gary, You nailed it, clogged and a stent. They called it an "MI". Still Kicking though... You'all cant get rid of me that easy !
Next Sunday, if not raining, I will try to enlist the aid of one of my kids and try to get some van work done...
Most of the heavy stuff was done before the MI - getting the eng&trans up the stairs, out of my basement and into the van.
NOw, I just need to get it hooked up and started.
Thanks for the get well wishes everyone.

It does beg the question, though: Would your 87 and 95 be there parked inside the pearly gates waiting for ya, all fixed up?

Been investigating what needs to be done on the Malibu lately.Got alittle more to look at that and going back out to the shop tomorrow. Then I can turn back onto working on the van again.I've fab'ed very good parts for the floor pan replacement only to have my 110 gas mig with problems controlling the heat ranges ruin them and burn threw.Been thinking about how I am going to get around that lately and have some good ideas. :-k

So Matt the race to who is going to finish their van first, the saying is,I'm in it to win it.LOL.
