Interior lights question

Post by sidecar53 »

:-s A few weeks ago, I noticed that the interior lights quit coming on when the doors were opened. I can still turn them on from the button on the dash, but I really miss the automatic on function. Any ideas what could be causing this?? Fuse maybe? Seems unusual that none of the doors will cause the lights to come on. Thanks for the read. :canuk:

Press the dome light over ride switch on/off 4 times and see what happens.

Possibly a fuse. Check the owners manual for info. There may be a setting that you can change for when/how the dome lights come on.

It may also be the door pin switch.

i was thinking that too Capt but the fact that none of the doors trigger it made me dismiss that. I have one bad switch but all the other doors trigger the domes fine the odds of the all the switches going out one after the other of even all at once is probably super low. I'll see if i have a wiring diagram for the dome lights.

These are the layouts for my 98 according to the service manuals maybe they'll help

When I removed my dash bezel?? my lights would act crazy, the wires hooked up to the switch were just loose enough where moving them shut them off/on randomly. I doubt that is your problem since you haven't touched your switch, but if you end up taking it apart check your connections.
