Re: What to pull from a 1997 AWD Astro?
Believe me, I wish I could just grab it for a High-Lift V8 project but there is no way my wife would let me have it here, we already have 3 working vehicles and only a 2 car garage as it is, I also hate to see it go to the scrapyard, he'll probably get $200 for it tops, he said the interior/exterior...

My coworker has a 97 he blew the engine in, and is giving it to the local scrap yard, he said I can come by and pull anything I want off of it, can any of you school me on any items that I should get from it that are hard to find and or discontinued?

Re: Overhead console in a 1999 that never had one?
Tried finding the part #'s online but didn't find anything that matched, and unfortunately the pick n pull yard was closing as I was pulling the console, and I was basically escorted out, went back 2 days later and of course the van I pulled it from was gone, So I couldn't check what year it was, I ...

Overhead console in a 1999 that never had one?
Like the title states, I'm trying to install a overhead console in a 1999 that never had one and I just can't figure out the wiring, the small pigtail for the lights aren't a problem but the larger pigtail is, it has pink, black, dark green, purple/whitestripe, grey, and light green/blackstripe wire...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Finally got the composite headlight swap done, went with chevy style grill, since the gmc style are virtually nonexistent, it went beautifully with no hiccups, as long as you have all the parts, took lots of pics especially of the wiring, since there is little pics/info on that part, I plan to post ...

Re: 1999 recalibration options
Thanks again LaGrasta you seem to answer most of my questions hahaha, maybe I should just PM you. Another $200, man these builds add up quick, holidays are the wrong time to try and build up the van, my plan is to acquire all the parts, then mod, seems a bit tougher to do than I thought right now, m...

Re: Lifting your 2WD van and ride quality
Those should be performer series judging by pics I've seen, the "classic" are silver, "performer" are red, and "extreme" are also silver, performers are around $340 for a set of four, free shipping. Found some Bilsteins heavy duty for $301 for 4, free shipping! I'm gonn...

Re: Lifting your 2WD van and ride quality
Hey, thanks for the reply, looks like everyone here is happy with their hellwig rear sway bar, is there any need to replace the front also? I have what appear to be new kyb's in the front and leaky original shocks bathed in oil in the rear, heard bilsteins are good but pricey, is there a cheaper equ...

Haha, yes I'm 100% sure it means Multi Purpose Vehicle, I was just wondering if all Astro's/Safari's were categorized as that on their door sticker

Re: Mystery RPO codes
I was just going to assume that FLT means fleet vehicle since it was formerly a federal government fleet vehicle, good to know what the AXP means, on my drivers side door sticker, after the VIN, it says TYPE: M.P.V. do all vans say this??
