I can get set of vortec heads for $200 freshly pulled from a 99 vortec 350. He also has the vortec carb intake with a holley 750 double pumper carb. Should i go for this? I...

Re: SBC 350 Compression question
Any idea if a set of 98' vortec heads will fit on this old 88' motor?
I remember something about the middle bolt holes being different
This old 88' motor runs great but the stock heads are crap and it has the stupid manifolds with "emissions" bungs... gotta plug those and weld up.

SBC 350 Compression question
Hey guys I finally have everything i need to do my V8 swap in my 95.
I tested the compression of each cylinder and they read 170-175psi... isn't that a little high for a V8
I'm not sure if the engine was ever rebuilt or not but the truck i yanked it from had 230,000kms on it.

Re: CPI to TBI conversion.
What did you have to do for the heater hoses?
My cpi 4.3 doesn't have that goofy clip connector heater hose at the back of the engine on the passenger side.
Also... what is the black round sensor thing on top of the cpi intake?

Re: V8 swap questions - CPI to TBI in a 95
Ok so I got my 88 truck home... runs perfect and lots of power. I'm going to use the TBI 350 engine, my 4L60E trans thats in the van now and i'm picking up a 95' ECU from a truck. Should be almost 100% plug and play minus the wiring change for the TBI instead of CPI. This truck even has the braided ...

V8 swap questions - CPI to TBI in a 95
Ok so my van is a 1995 Safari with the crappy CPI 4.3L V6 and a 4L60E transmission. My donor vehicle is a 1988 Chevy 1/2 ton with a TBI 350 and 700R4 transmission. My main question is can i install the 88's motor and trans, use the 88's ECU and change the wiring according to Lockdocs writeup to swit...

Re: RWD V8 Mounts wanted
Ya you can flip the mounts and move them forward 3" but you have to make an extension plate on the drivers side.. not a huge deal but mounts are so much easier.
