Re: Started out with no heat...now the AC is stuck on.

Now, wouldn't that be nice!!! Easy fix. I just need to remember to check in when the van's warmed up.

Re: SUNDAY I GET AN EXTRA 2"!

VERY cool. Really helps being able to see it like that...I will be spending some more time on that site later tonight. When I'm NOT supposed to be working... I haven't pulled the trigger yet on the wheels/tires, but planned to tonight. As soon as I can confirm where I'm having them installed. Droppe...

Re: Started out with no heat...now the AC is stuck on.

Alright- so AC's been stuck on for two days in 80 degree weather, even though I had the switches pointing to defrost and the heat all the way up. After driving for about 30 minutes last night, I rounded the corner into my neighborhood and BAM- heat kicked on, hotter than the blazes of hell. So weird...

Re: SUNDAY I GET AN EXTRA 2"!

I've given up trying to explain, but I think my mom will stop bugging me when they get my old tires to stash away for my dad's work van. They're fine...yes, lame...but fine. Will save them some coin when he needs new shoes in the near future. And you saved me from making a big dumb mistake, thank yo...

Re: SUNDAY I GET AN EXTRA 2"!

Thank you! I did wonder if I might not get away with slightly bigger tires...I was erring on the small size for fear of rubbing, but then I read a for-sale listing where the guy had a 2" lift and 31" tires. Overland said the 2" kit would fit up to 29". Will check out the BFG and ...

Re: Started out with no heat...now the AC is stuck on.

Thank you! I did print off a good thread with some troubleshooting ideas regarding the hoses to help narrow it down, will try that tonight.

And I'm sorry about my signature...I've not yet figured out how to change that part of my profile. Will work on it!

Have a 1999 2WD astro conversion.

Re: SUNDAY I GET AN EXTRA 2"!

Thank you very much! Fortunately, I haven't bought anything just yet and I have no doubt that I'm misunderstanding offset vs. bolt circle diameter. I'm trying to teach myself about these things via lots of web research and relying on nice people like you to show me the way. Thanks for the clarificat...

Started out with no heat...now the AC is stuck on.

I've been reading threads and trying to narrow down my issue, and I'm not having much luck. I have a feeling I could replace several more parts before I hit the nail on the head... My blower only works on high, which is fine with me for now, if it's a seperate problem. At first, I had warm air- not ...

SUNDAY I GET AN EXTRA 2"!

So I've been driving my new big white conversion for almost a month. Have discovered a few little issues (no heat! replaced the thermostat, next is to try and flush the core and see if it helps...busted door latch...busted fan switch, either high or nothing). Nothing detrimental to the cause yet. My...

Re: I get my van this week!

No pictures yet....actually, no van yet! It's coming from a Porsche dealer in Cleveland, I expect a big truck to pull up in front of my house any day now. It makes things even more awkward to be sending off checks/paperwork to a Porsche dealer from my work- I work with a bunch of yuppies that would ...

Re: I get my van this week!

Awesome. Thanks guys. Will be printing this off and sharing with the guys performing this surgery for me. I wish I could just do it myself! I had a little bit of welding in art school but nothing at all to be applied to the real world.

Re: I get my van this week!

Thank you guys! I was worried a little about it being top heavy, but I've seen a few high tops that are lifted and wanted to give it a go. I'd be willing to go with less than a 4" lift though. I think I've found that thread about sourcing my own kit- some really great information there. I've sa...

I get my van this week!

Hey everyone I've been wanting a van for as long as I can remember, and I finally found 'the one'... sending off the final paperwork today and it's mine all mine. It's a '99 RWD high top conversion that I want to lift 4". I hope you guys might be able to offer me some good advice, because so fa...
