Don't feel bad! I had to drop my tank twice when I replaced the fuel pump! My dummass didn't know the fuel pump disconnect harness was in the tank assembly, so I pried it apart on the outside of the tank. So when I reassembled, I had the harness backwards...the fuel guage still worked, amazingly enough, but the pump was pumping backwards...lmao!!!
Works OK now...still hard starting though.
