Bra or Bug deflector

Post by KiteDiva »

I'm torn! Golden Girl (my van's name...all vans should have a name yanno!!) has a hood that is in pretty darn good shape considering her age (20) I want to keep it in good shape and would like some feed back from those more knowledgeable than I! Do I go with a Bra, removing it occasionally for cleaning and waxing underneath, or do I go with the ubiquitous Bug deflector??

cheers

I vote for the bug deflector. Any place the bra doesn't fit tight there will be some movement and that will lead to some paint damage. Besides, I think they are ugly. For a first time van owner, you got yourself a nice one. And it's a Safari as is the "Smilie Van. \:D/

I would go with the bug deflector. Bras can scratch the paint and cause funny fade lines. I also found a cup holder centre console for you if you want it I can run it by on Saturday or Sunday as I will be right past your house to get the travel trailer from my dads house.

Hey Kevin!!
I'm going to stay with the bug deflector, Steph got me going on the Bra idea but after looking into them, they're just too fiddly for me. As for the console! Yes PLEASE!! Do you have my cell number? If not, drop me a pm or an email at aiyanam@gmail.com and I'll give it to you!

cheers!

Where do you get a bug deflector? I can't find anyone who have this in store here in Norway. So I need to import this from a store in the US.

Neither, both aren't really all that great for finish, aerodynamics, or looks. Several people in my wife's Jeep group have 3M/Scotchgard Paint Protection Film installed on there Liberties. It's a clear urethane films that comes in a couple different thicknesses. Properly applied it's almost invisible and does a fine job protecting the leading edges.
