You are very welcome for the post. So many have given so much. :usa:

I have a request and I may have mentioned this before, I was discharged in Dec. of 1971. Never thought about anyone thanking me for my service and never looked for anyone to ever say thank you but realized 3 years ago when a close military friend of mine who teaches school in Lubbock, Tx. added my name to be called out by the Student Council during the honoring of all Lubbock veterans who have served. The students hand made a thank you card which they all signed. They also made a special lapel pin and a framed certificate. When I read the card thanking me, I cried and still do tear up when I think about it. After reading the card and certificate I realized it was the first time anyone had said thank you and how much was missing in my life to not have heard those words from 1971 to 2007.
My request to everyone is something I do often. When you're out shopping or cruising around and you see a man or women in uniform, do a thumbs up and if close enough for them to hear, say thanks,,we appreciate all you do. You'll be surprized at their response or look on their face and they will never forget that special thank you from someone they didn't even know. :usa: :usa: :usa:

A reminder for all of us who take our freedoms for granted - it came on the backs/lives of a lot of hard working soldiers! You have my respect!
