Former & hopeful future Astro owner

Post by Ned B »

Hi gang,
I had a LWB '92 Astro awhile back, wound up selling it and have been kicking myself ever since. Probably going to be looking for a 2000 or younger model to add to the family fleet in the near future.

Pro Photographer, freemason, ex trucker, current hobbyist woodworker husband, 'Dad' and road warrior. See you on the boards and on the roads!

Thanks! I'm going to be in the market 'soon' for that younger van, I've got a ton of 'road' work for a new job coming up, and I want something I can set up for the occasional overnight trip or at least the 'too darned tired to go further' stop... ie, either the fold down bed in the back, or a jacknife sofa. I'd be very happy with a cargo van, just have to find the 'right one'.

Welcome to the site Ned.I suggest you already have 50% of what you need handled by saying you need to find the right one.Maybe you should look into a retired fleet van that has had regular service intervals.Colleges I have seen sell off low mileage vans that normally just travel within their campus's.You could call one near you to see how they handle that and if they use Astro's.

Thanks all,
Gary, I can 'afford' to be patient and find the right van.. I have a Buick Rendezvous, which will work for the time being for the new job, but I'd rather not run my family vehicle into the ground for work. I'm going to find a decent van for the 'right' price, tweak it a bit and keep the family van for its intended use, though my wife is thinking that the Buick is the work vehicle, and that she needs a smaller car for a runabout. I was tempted to say, you pay for the runabout ,fine, otherwise, I'm getting my Astro.
