can I put my '97 4.3 in a 2000 safari?
tomorrow I am going to buy a 2000 safari to replace my '97. the 2000 dropped a cylinder and will need a new motor. will my '97 motor swap across without having to change the wiring harness and computer? is it a plug and play type of swap or will I have to install the '97 harness and computer?

Should be a easy swap. As far as I know from '96 up they were the same.

I looked at car-part.com they only list 2000 motors for the 2000s,I don't know what the differences are ,the egr may have a different reference voltage,I wonder if the crank sensor may be different.
