Wow! For $6500 that had better be one nice Fiero! Yeah, I'm no expert but unless it has a 3800SC or 350 swap, I'd say its definitely overpriced.

Ya I wondered.
There is another one here with a 305 TPI, but he wants 10000.
And there is another 87 for 4000, but its an automatick, Ick!
And I see a beautifull 88 GT for 4000, but its way back east in Ontario...

What kind of mileage does a Fiero get? If you are only doing it for mileage, I would look at something a lot better. For $6500 you can get a nice little 5-6 year old econobox that gets 30+ mpg and has at least 2 airbags for a safer ride.

Now if you are doing it because you want something with a little better mileage, has to look cool (in your eyes), and is fun to drive...I say go for it!
Current rides:
2013 Toyota Tundra DC 4x4
2008 Dodge Nitro 4x4
2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S Special Edition

Mileage spreadsheet

Vans owned:
1986 Safari 2.5L 4 speed manual - scrapped
1995 Astro 2WD conversion 4.11 posi, shift kit, DHC rock rails - sold to Skippy
1998 Astro 4x4 D44, D60, NP231, full hydraulic system with 9k# Milemarker winch and snow plow - sold to Lockdoc
2003 Astro AWD all stock - traded for a 3/4 ton truck
2005 AWD, 4.10's - sold to skippy

I would have said $2K or maybe $2500 if it was in real great shape. Only Fieros worth more IMO are ones with well done engine swaps.

You read my mind, Gary. After you buy the car and insure it, you're about $7500 in the hole, and then you're trying to make that money back just in gas savings. (not even accounting for maintenance and repairs). The same thought crossed my mind a couple years back, so I did the math, and buying another car, no matter how efficient, would not pay for itself. Now that's just the financial side of things. If this is some kind of mid-life crisis then fly right at it LOL! :poke:
