ok cool, 3" inch lft maybe, that will be my gift to myself and The Van this spring. After I locate the oil leak, and that pesky tranny leak. ](*,) . Then maybe a plow before the next winter.

Well...I did it now. ](*,) The hydraulics are too strong for the plow frame! I cracked 2 pieces of 1/2" thick steel in half tonight while cleaning up from the last round of snow and ice. I will post pics later this week once I can get some during the daytime. :muhaha:

I'm sorry but thats funny , the hydraulics are to strong for the frame !!! with all your mods to the hydraulic system , you seem to have over done it huh dean ?? LOL i've heard of the frames breaking from snowplowing abuse but never cuz the lift system was to strong . knowing you , you'll have it fixed in a day or 2 and it will be strong enough to use as a bull dozer !!!lol

Seems we are finally getting more snow! I didn't get any of the van plowing or the cleared driveway. We are supposed to get more snow over the next couple days...

In this pic you can see the brace I added from the cylinder mount to the plow subframe. You can also see the piece I added near where the plow pins to the subframe.

so where did it break ???

It broke right where the frame is welded to the round tube that slides on the subframe. The arm that goes up to the cylinder has the pivot pin in it, it broke right above that pin. I ground it out and welded it closed and added the gusset on before adding the upper cylinder support.

Well I just got in from the heaviest snow I have plowed. Ten inches of cement and it's raining a downpour right now.
The weather people are calling for local flooding and from what I saw this morning on the streets they're correct.
At least we're not suppose to get arctic cold until the weekend.
Big news of the day on the Astro was seeing the tranny temp actually read out. I have had the temp gauge in since last summer and have never seen it go over 110* ;even all the plowing up til today. Well today the tranny got a workout and the temp showed 155* at its high mark.Good to know the tranny cooler really DOES do what it is designed to do. :supz:

Better go check all the sump pumps...... :-k

Here is a close-up of the gusset I added where the frame broke.

More plowing pics. I had to plow out behind the house so I could get to the cellar entrance to haul more wood in.
