I have the tool to remove the springs as the driver's side bushings are a little worn, but I don't have what I need to support the door while it is unhooked right now, so I figured keeping the pin from falling out would work for now.

that's the only reason i took it to mechanic no one to help me while doing the work and i wasn't about to build something to support the door

I used a simple hydraulic jack, worked fine for me.
