This is the latest WikiAlarm I received:
Your Wikipedia page (Chevrolet_Astro) has been updated.

At 20:13 on 13/08/2009 the following change was made:

Changed protection level for "Chevrolet Astro": Excessive vandalism: set expiry ([edit=autoconfirmed] (expires 19:13, 20 August 2009 (UTC)))
? Previous revision Revision as of 19:13, 13 August 2009
Maybe not locked, but definitely getting someones notice.

I am happy with how it reads right now. No pissing contest, nice and clear. I set the format originally to the two categories of World Wide and Individual Countries to make that clear, now if we leave it alone, and they leave it alone, it is a reasonable listing. Of course we could do a wiki for AstroSafariVans.com couldn't we? :)

Please keep this Wikipedia thing clean guys. Don't point fingers because we already know who it is. If you want to fix the links do so. We don't need to stoop to their level with this. Anyone who has a brain will figure out pretty quickly that we have the info for repairs and mods right here. :supz:

Agreed. Don't stoop to their level. We're above that.

Popularity with modifiers

Because of its truck based design, the Astro also is popular with some off road and camping enthusiasts.
He keeps making "enthusiasts" a link to AS. If anyone wanted to fix it.

Handling disputes and abuse
Main articles: Wikipedia:Vandalism, Wikipedia:Dispute resolution, Wikipedia:Consensus, Wikipedia:Sock puppetry, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest
Wikipedia has a rich set of methods to handle most abuses that commonly arise. These methods are well-tested and should be relied upon.
Intentional vandalism can be reported and corrected by anyone.
Unresolved disputes between editors, whether based upon behavior, editorial approach, or validity of content, can be addressed through the talk page of an article, through requesting comments from other editors or through Wikipedia's comprehensive dispute resolution process.
Abuse of user accounts, such as the creation of "Internet sock puppets" or solicitation of friends and other parties to enforce a non-neutral viewpoint or inappropriate consensus within a discussion, or to disrupt other Wikipedia processes in an annoying manner, are addressed through the sock puppet policy.
In addition, brand new users (until they have established themselves a bit) may at the start find that their votes are given less weight by editors in some informal polls, in order to prevent abuse of single-purpose accounts.

You guys could just report the abuse.......

I contacted Wiki today and requested that they remove Austin's link to AS.com at "enthusiasts."

I find it a little funny that more folks don't understand why the owner of A.S is doing what he is doing. The plane and simple truth is that A.M is trying to make his website as valuable as possible, that is why he begs his members to backlink from wherever they can, and this is why he forbids any and all links ( including personal links in PM's ) to astrosafarivans.com

The best way to improve your website's worth is to get more backlinks and listings on trustworthy directories and blogs, he will stop at nothing to try to get A.S worth to rise, which explains his use of advertising as well. Coupled with the fact that A.S has been around since 02 ( shows a certain stability, altho we know how stable it REALLY was ) also adds monetary value to his sites worth. People who click on A.M's ad's, make money for him, when they backlink to A.S they increase his sites worth ( however small ) it all adds up! and puts potential money at the sale of A.S ( whenever that may be ) in his and his alone pockets.

Just look up any of the myriads of websites that show a sites potential worth and the factors which add to that worth and you will understand his motives.

I heart Ad Block Plus, I don't see advertising anywhere and my pages load faster.

I dug this up just to say....

It's interesting that person of his age could act so childish. I wonder if he is such a child in person?

It's very irritating the the wiki is locked down because of his immature actions (and if is lifted-please let me know). It's also irritating that in reality this only hurts the astro community.

Apparently, the edit lock has been lifted. I wonder how long AS.com will take to notice this?
