Inline Spark Tester question

Post by andyrud »

The instructions say to place it on a spark plug. Our astros are very hard to get to the plugs. Just to see if you have spark can you hook it up between the distributer outlets and the plug wire. Also, if you place to between the coil and it's wire will it show if the coil is sparking when you crank the engine?
Thanks in advance,

Follow the instructions otherwise you defeat the purpose of the test.
the hard to reach plugs are accessed through the wheel well

I did install the inline spark test between the distributer cap and wire going down to the spark plug. It showed a spark at each cap outlet. At least I knew I had spark at each cap outlet.

it's supposed to go into the spark plug boot . That way you know the wire is good.
