YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

Wow, I need to watch the news more often. Last I heard it was heading for Louisana. Well, good luck, hope you need the rain! Sometimes these storms can be a good thing. Say for instance, if you're in the middle of a drought. So do you plan on boarding up the house? Or do you only do that for the "big" ones? Around here we have some folks that will put up their shutters at the sign of the first hurricane and not take them down till the seasons over!!!

You can always move up here to Montana. We don't know what a hurricane is and we seldom see twisters.

Captain, subzero weather and me don't agree.
The well wishes are appreciated, and apparently worked. :supz:
The storm sped up overnight. The forecast yesterday was for it to make landfall around 1pm. It's about 6:15 am and it's moving onshore now. The good thing is that it didn't hang out over the gulf longer and strengthen.
As long as it doesn't spawn any tornadoes, this shouldn't be too bad. Not a good day to be out driving around though. The streets in Houston flood and all the little ricer cars gridlock the city. And like all rain events, the drivers' IQ seems to diminish at an inverse rate relative to the amount of rainfall. If you can't see the curbs, don't drive your honda car into it. :toimonster:

What sub-zero weather? It's been in the 90s with one big plus -- 0% humidity.

Held up just fine, as mentioned, not much wind and not all that much rain either, varied depending on what part of town you happened to be in 2.5" some places, 5" others.
I hung out at the house until the first bad rain bands hit the northwest side of town. Once I saw things were not so bad, I fired up the 'stro and went on in to work.
The storm moved out of town fast enough for me to catch my 4:30 pm flight to Boston this past Tuesday.
I had more trouble with weather in Newark than I did in Houston - delayed flight, then canceled. Spent an extra night in Boston. Just rolled back into town this afternoon.
