Found this in Hot Rod 05/2007 page 143.
In the tech support section, someone wanted to make 500hp for his S-10 using a 4.3.
The answer went through a bunch of stuff to get to 340hp then add a 200hp nitrous system. So it CAN be done running on just 6 spark plugs.
But then, a 350/383 would have been cheaper and easier.
From the archives was these two...
Then there was their article on supercharging a 4.3 to 500hp.

And some general discussion of the 4.3. http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/engi ... ine_build/

540 HP 4.3 ?
I was told getting my beauty sleep was a waste of time.
1990 Astro (Z motor) mostly original @ 343,584 miles (552,944.8488960001 Canadian) (03/2008). Bad startup puff. Starting to spray for skeeters. Gone 06/07/08.
1993 Astro with a bad W motor. Parked next to a chicken coop in Talking Rock GA
I'm 'tween Canton and Holly Springs (North NorthWest of Atlanta GA)
I haul bottled water everyday- between 500 and 2500 pounds (226.796185 and 1,133.980925 Canadian) INSIDE the van.

Personally, I prefer the Buick 6 but you can do a lot with the Chevy motor

The cool thing is those are all pump gas tunes, if they were running more boost they could pull a lot more power from it if they can hold together. The last one is a very practical combo using a 74mm, cam and vortec heads; the first two use Brodix AL heads.
