Hi from Toledo, Ohio!!!
My first Astro. God, I could write volumes.. She was glorious beast of GM engineering. I was also young too, unfortunately, so I feared not a corn field or pumpkin if I was in the pilot's chair.
As "Scrappy" (another story, another day) was an 85, and my parents deemed her not worthy of fixing (brake lines. M.f.ing. brake lines) and I was un knowing of general car-fixing, she was let go, in the summer of '03
I truly wish I had any pictures left of her, some digging I will surely do, soon! But now, I'm on the eve of owning my second Astro (95), and I cannot wait. I'm driving to 45 minutes to where she is to buy her, and I'm estatic! Seriously, why can't time go faster?! XD
Anyhow, glad to be here, looking forward to posting and lurking

Welcome Aboard Chris.
You should be very happy with it.
My second van was a 95 as well. An AWD, I picked up for like 400bux.
It was awesome and ran for a long long time.
Good Luck Bro !

Re: Hi from Toledo, Ohio!!!
No kidding, I've owned a few GM's since then, a 3.1 96 Beretta, a 3.1 96 Grand Prix, and a 4.3 91 C1500.. ever since I got the 1500.. I kept thinking.. Scrappy 2.0.. If only..mdmead wrote:Welcome Chris!

I've been digging for an AWD for a long while, and at anything south of $3k, they all seem to be plagued by pumps, lines, or engine / trans issues 0_o The one I'm digging into is $500, and I have high hopesdoyoulikeithere wrote:Welcome Aboard Chris.

Just remember that you can swap an awd frame assembly in no prob if you find a dead awd donor for parts.

I had a 3.1 Grand Prix (92) and I loved it. Had a lot of memories in 'er. We feared nary a garbage can nor mountainous road.
Anyway, welcome to the club.

Re: Hi from Toledo, Ohio!!!
More pics from when I got her here. Can't wait to get it to a garage to start wrenching ^^
Thar right there? My little slice of heaven on four wheels XD
Definitely starting from scratch this time around. Was jazzed to see that my custom back seats are actually bolted in
Lil rust here and there, but I've seen (and paid for) worse
Probably the worst of the rust.. thinking of going dutch anyways.. plenty of encouragement

Big Red hiding behind The Van
Nothing cobbed under here. Planning on keeping it that way

Your pics aren't showing up for me. I think you are using the wrong URL.
