Recently bought a 1989 Astro RS from Florida. Replaced stock engine witha 1997 5.7 vortec with TBI and replaced transmission with rebuilt 700R4 with mild shift kit.
Bought on Monday the 16th of April 2012

looks like you raised the surrounding area as well as knock a hole thru. so it sits on a hump. just like on the subaru. how did you do it?
got an even closer shot? maybe a side view? or a couple under the hood?

I cut the center from a subaru hood and welded it in to the stock astro hood. The bottom of the hood is not done yet I am welding in a shield and an air box to feed the V8 once its done and installed. at this time the original insulation is back on the underside of the hood. Its raining here so more pics will come when it stops.

not sure what you mean by "profile shots" but I will take a few more from the sides and the front if that works.

OK but I am in the middle of the V8 swap so I will have to set the hood on a table to take a few more pictures.
