Re: Trans fluid and filter change

Arrrg. How do you get the o-ring in. I can get it a little way in, but not all the way in, and without it in, the filter cannot be installed properly. I'm running out of energy and time... You slip the o ring over the male, plastic pipe, upper end of the filter assembly, the part that slips up into...

Without the pic thing, and after trying to get the o-ring out with my finger, I am wondering if I will ever get it out. Any other ways to get it out since I have had little success at this point? The four dollar o ring remover tool in the link I posted above. http://www.harborfreight.com/2-piece-o-...

Re: Lumpy's 89 2 inch lift, with pics and measurements

Let me know how you like the MyRide setup. I just removed it from my truck as it seems to run every time I start the truck to move a trailer or load with camp wood... Mine does that same thing. If I've got the shocks set to any number, while the power is on, then cycle it off and turn it back on, t...

Re: Where is my Cruise Control Module?

Drooler is right. Follow the two cable connections on your throttle. One is connected to your gas pedal and the other goes to the vacuum servo for the cruise. I believe the module that controls the cruise system is attached to the same bracket as the vacuum servo. The module you pointed out in the ...

Took a trip to the local pull-a-part. Found a trans dipstick to replace my broken one (the JB weld wouldn't stay on the broken dipstick). Didn't find any Astro "wagon wheels". Still looking for just ONE if anyone has one. Just a single, stock wheel, for use as a full sized spare. Rubber do...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

JB Welded my transmission dip stick back together. It broke at the
existing weld, which is right where the handle joins the main
part of the stick.

Nor sure if it's normally welded. Seems like that might have
been done by some prev owner.

We'll see how the mighty JB goo holds.

Re: Spray on, Dip on RTV PlastiDip - Very Cool Stuff

Spray it onto the back of throw rugs (auto floor mats) to make them more slip resistant on the floor. If you cut a piece of carpeting to fit into your van, coat the edges of the carpeting and/or spray the back to make a finished edge and reduce unravelling. Pump a ton of it into that gulf oil leak t...
