If I remember right, you have to screw the piston back in. Hence the above tool. I had A Fiero that was the same way.

With that BJ looking that bad, I suggest you plan on replacing all 4 BJs, if not now, soon. OR you can try putting JB weld in a grease gun and give the others a shot to fill the voids. (just kidding)
