It's true. There are 2 ways to be found on the internet. One is advertise. The other is to found via a search engine.
So, I googled "Chevy Astro forum" and then "Chevrolet Astro forum." We weren't on the first 3 pages of either search.
Then I googled "Chevy Astro won't start." Didn't see us there either...
I did the same searches on Ask and Bing, and got similar results--we weren't there.
How do we become more searchable so we can start to grow again?

Re: How searchable are we?
ah, I've done this before. Our company website had no search engine presence. It's been a while, but I'm sure I can find it again. The search engines have pages you can go to where you can enter your site address. Their "spiders" go and check several pages deep on your site, and bingo you have search engine presence.
Or, Justice or one of our other admins could do this....

Re: How searchable are we?
I just looked on Google - came up second, it really has to do with "metadata" and tags - you can search and see what preferences/weight Google gives them, and other search engines like bing, yahoo, etc. Someone could then tweak the tags and this site might perform beter, however since the other site runs google advertisement I don't think you will see this site before the other anytime soon on google. If this site had more adds than them, then I best the search results would be different.
the link to the forums from the *.com page to the *.org page might also reduce search engines abilities to prioritize us, as the search bots sometimes get confused and think that the site has less information, or not a lot of information. Blah Blah Blah - I think I am boring people.

Re: How searchable are we?
With the way google and other search engines work nowadays there isn't alot you can do but there is some things. it all has to do with linking. Google Search engine optimization. There is a whole industry based on this now a days.
