Re: How much would you pay - How much is she worth?

Thanks for your opinion! I'm thinking about the same. I'm hoping for 6k, minimum. I think being in Oregon I can probably garner some interest, as everyone seems to be looking for AWD/4x4 vans. I'll update here with the results.

Anyone else?

How much would you pay - How much is she worth?

The time has come. Our trusty van, the "RaSafari", is going up on the auction block. A little piece of my soul just died writing that sentence. I've got KBB, a few friends and some general google searches providing me with opinions of what she is worth, but I feel the population on this fo...

Re: 32x11.50x15 tires on a awd

32's are big for a 4" lift. That's why the air shocks were required. What style/model shocks did you install? Thinking about installing two air shocks in the back of my 4" lifted Safari for transporting a motorcycle on a hitch tray. If you have any opinions, let me know! Solid trail rig, ...

Is your Astro lifted? I wonder (without having searched the forums) who is running air shocks with a 4+ lift on an AWD and if they recommend it for the heavier loads. Thanks for the change Vanjoe :partyman:

Re: Improve gas mileage

I do a lot of long distance driving (x-country type trips) and I write down every single gas fill-up. This not only keeps your brain focused on what kind of gas mileage you're getting, but if the mileage suddenly drops, you've just gotten your first heads up that something is wrong under the hood. To me the lifted Safari looks normal, and the stock Safari almost looks lowered! :-k

Re: another cool website for van stuff

Good website, they helped me out with a custom bed that I had drawn up. I re-did my van, so I'm selling the bed. It's in great condition, barely used. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/12941_222487213034_1069519_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/18065_265272228034_2031263_n.j...

Re: Astro camping: 5 days of enduro riding and overlanding

I welded an extra reciever ontop of the moto tray for the mountain bike tray to fit into. This way, i don't have to keep switching back and forth all the time, I can just add or subtract the mtn bike tray. Hey Tom, Just curious... with the bicycles and moto on the back, do you feel a lot of bounce ...

Re: Anyone have beds in your van?

Great ideas on here! I'm selling a bench seat/bed that was built specifically for astro/safari's. If you're interested or have questions let me know.

Brilliant work. Makes me feel much better about my van OCD and grand schemes. I'm interested in seeing what you do with the overhead console. Any progress with that?

Re: My poptop converted van

Beautiful interior!

If you could, I'd love to see some photos of the swivel mechanism on the rear table, as I've been flirting with the idea of a rebuild, and I like how that looks!

Thanks!

Re: Jack Point for a Highlift Jack

I like the Lift Mate, as it'll raise the wheel if I need to, or to place a jack stand to remove the wheel. Thanks unrreal. Bottle jacks seem to work with a few pieces of wood. I usually carry a 12 ton. A 12 ton? That seems huge. Is there a reason, related to your van, that you carry a 12 ton? Thanks.

Re: Jack Point for a Highlift Jack

Like this... :muhaha: Haha yes, just like that. I believe I've seen that photo before, and I've thought about adding rocker bars similar to that but it's a ways out. Thanks for the response, and good work on your van. I'm guessing by the responses I need to continue to use the stock jack and just h...

Re: Jack Point for a Highlift Jack

Thanks, the reminder to chock is a good one. I've used lots of jack points under the van, but I'm looking for a solution to the Highlift jack. Do you use a Highlift Jack? If so, what points do you use for jacking? I've used the rear hitch, rear bumper (insecure) and the front bumper. I'd love a poin...
