Re: Are van designers brain dead these days?

Amazing how they could create something useful like a panel van or sedan delivery 60 years ago with a full frame and 8 cyl engine but they can't do it now... "Oh Mr. Vicenzo Lancia, why did you have to go and invent the unibody for automobiles..." So what if I have a Lancia Zagato wi...

Re: Hours to change axle bearings?

Thanks for the reply. I 'used to' do all my own repairs, restored a few cars, done engine swaps, ring jobs, etc... all kinds of things but I never did any rear end work. [-X These days, my job, three kids and wife keep me busy enough so I am having most work done at local shops. I was going to order...

Hours to change axle bearings?

The GT4 / G80 rear end is making noise, sounds like axle bearings to me. Can anyone tell me how many hours it should take for a pro to change them out? Also, any recommendations for which bearing kit to buy from Rock Auto? Thanks!

Are van designers brain dead these days?

I mean come on... All we need is a van similar to the Astro but fine tuned a bit. It should seat 7 with removable seats, have a low deck height for loading goods, be power enough to tow a smaller travel trailer or boat with ease and most importantly you should be able to drive it just about anywhere...

Did 1993 Astro vans come with keyless entry?

I have my new 1993 fully loaded Astro which has power door locks but the original owner never gave me any remotes to trigger the locks. So my question is, did they even come with it in '93?

Re: Suggestions Needed For Towing Problem

I just put a pair of these on: http://www.monroe.com/products/Sensa-Tr ... -Absorbers
They are great for supporting that extra weight to eliminate rear end sag.

HOT to touch door panel!

So my wife noticed that the passenger door panel gets super hot right around the power window button. Has anyone had this issue before? I will have to pop off the door panel and look but thought I would ask here first.

Factory Hitch Ratings

So I finally have my '93 Extended AWD licensed and on the road, replacing my '91 shorty. It's time now for me to get it ready to tow the travel trailer around so I have ordered a Hayden 679 tranny cooler and am pulling off the stock rusty hitch to have it sand blasted and powder coated. They are onl...

Re: 200hp V6

chevymaher, you mentioned that you have a big exhaust on your van. My '93 is due for a new muffler and tailpipe combo which got me to wondering what you've done... could you elaborate please?

Re: Side by Side SAFARI's *pic*

I love the look and wish I could do it to my new '93 AWD... Problem is, at 5'8" tall, I would never be able to lift my 100 lb sub-woofers in and out of the back for my DJ biz. Maybe a 2" lift... :D
