Re: Smog test
If I don't see a leak, I think it's possible a faulty purge valve from what I have read A faulty purge valve also constitutes a vacuum leak. However, if this was the case, you would be getting EVAP trouble codes. (P0455, P0456, etc.) Vacuum leaks can be elusive to spot. The best way to test for the...

Re: Smog test
nope.
And bad ECM would also throw a code.
Like I said lean codes are very common. It's probably a rotten vacuum line.
2nd request: Please post your van info. Year + Model + Engine + odometer. Thank you.

Re: Smog test
No, you have a lean code which isn't that uncommon. You'll want to check for vacuum leaks and fuel pressure first. Also, you need post your vehicle details with each question please.

Re: Crank No start Headache
the pressure on the fuel rail seem to read right As it talks about in the service manual I linked above, the anti-theft system disables the fuel injectors. You will still see fuel pressure in the fuel rail, but without injector pulse, the cylinders are starved and won't fire. https://charm.li/Chevr...

Re: Crank No start Headache
Welcome to the forum. The anti-theft system is disabling fuel. Here is the troubleshooting procedure for DTC P1626: https://charm.li/Chevrolet/2000/Express%201%2F2%20Ton%20Van%20V8-5.7L%20VIN%20R/Repair%20and%20Diagnosis/A%20L%20L%20%20Diagnostic%20Trouble%20Codes%20%28%20DTC%20%29/Testing%20and%20I...

Re: BW4472 Exploded view, part numbers, cross reference.
EDIT: Is there not a 'Mechanical Connection' to the item that is in Park. The only thing park gear does is latch the transmission output so it can't move. Nothing else down the line changes. Did Vans with AWD have a different park mechanism or was it in the TC ? Nope. They are identical. The differ...

Re: BW4472 Exploded view, part numbers, cross reference.
EDIT: did finally work, but this 508 thing has been going on for a few days now.[/color] sixsix It seems we were getting a barrage of traffic from Singapore. Nothing good I'm certain. We've blocked all Singapore based IP addresses. Hopefully we're out of the woods for a while. Keep me posted on for...

I was going to inquire into how I can be a supporter, and if more support gets more bandwidth. Yeah. Better hosting package = more resources = a more robust site. :hmm: hmm these bots sure do generate more business for them. If I was a web hosting company and wanted customers to give me more money ...

Re: BW4472 Exploded view, part numbers, cross reference.
Why does any vehicle roll at all with or without the front drive shaft - when the transmission is in park ? Not any vehicle. Just ones with an open diff inside the transfer case. For example the later vans with the electric TC (NP136 I think) won't do that. Was my explanation hard to follow? anythi...
