Re: Adding OEM Limited Slip
Since the G80 unit is purely mechanical, I believe control module programming will be identical. Wheel speed sensors will compensate for any limited slip activity. You can try asking , but I think the dealer will refuse. They only use new OEM parts based on your VIN. The part is "cheap", b...

Re: compressor runs on heat setting
it's 100 % logical and not absurd at all.
As I said, disable it at your peril. A couple of ounces of fuel is not worth replacing the AC system. As an engineer you should also understand that refrigerant lubricates the system.

Re: compressor runs on heat setting
Most people don't want humid air blowing on their cold windshield. I'm sure you know what will happen. Compressors are incredibly efficient these days. The fuel consumption is insignificant. Most people would rather have HVAC that works. Set controls to MAX-AC, and turn temp dial to hot. Now have yo...

Re: Adding OEM Limited Slip
Welcome to the forum. Just find a matching size axle with the limited slip option (RPO code G80). Beware of voiding your powertrain warranty though.

Re: compressor runs on heat setting
If you're an engineer then you should know it takes less energy to heat dry air.
You can recirculate heat easily I don't understand the problem.

Re: compressor runs on heat setting
It’s on for good reason. I’d leave it. The engineers know what they’re doing. My buddy disabled his and then had to spend several grand to replace the entire system.

Re: 1992 G20 van - Electrical wizzard needed...
You shouldn't assume the battery is good. Voltage is not a good guarantee, and "charging without problem" isn't either. Neither is being new. You could have been sold a bad battery. If you want to diagnose your problem properly, and eliminate something as a cause, you need to be thorough. ...

Re: 1992 G20 van - Electrical wizzard needed...
measured the voltage over the poles. You mean the battery posts? I connected a fully charged (12.5 V) battery ... I get fluctuating values between 0 and 3 Volts. So, to clarify, your battery measures 12.5V outside of the vehicle, and then as soon as you hook up the cable terminals, you measure 3V o...

feel your heater hoses to see if they get hot (both). You could try backflushing it.
unless your engine is overheating I wouldn't touch the radiator.
I've never had a 95. Are the vents vacuum controlled? if so it's usually rotten vacuum lines. check charm.li for details.

Re: Wanted 95 GMC G2500 Vandura Climate Control Panel
I think your chances of winning the lottery are better than finding a new one. You need to scour the internet, boneyards, classifieds, etc. for used ones. Or thinking about how you might MacGyver some alternative solution. Luckily in 1995, the controls are very primitive and easily substituted. What...
