Re: 2004 Safari production van

My vote is for air shocks also. I carry an extra 1k pounds of hot air balloon equipment. My air shocks do exactly what I need them to do.

Re: A Sad Day... (but a new beginning...)

It seems to take forever. I've been trying to organize my shop for three years. In my world everybody's stuff seems to take priority.

Re: Hello from northern Colorado

Nice......hard shifting is normal with these vans. Loose steering is probably worn idler arms. There's two. One on each end of the drag link. Change both...you'll notice a big difference.

A lot of the old crew are on Facebook. I keep in touch with several of them.

Re: 10 years of ASV

Still here. Been here since 12-2-06. Still have my '96 Safari. 283,000 miles. Original motor and trans. Although reverse just quit. It's in my shop waiting for a rebuild. Could not have found a better vehicle for my purpose.

Ignition coils

This is the second time and I'm stumped. On my way home from a trip to New York the coil decided to quit. A flat bed trip to a shop and coil replacement and I'm on the road again. I went through this same scenario less than a year ago. Are there any replacement coils that are worth a crap?

Re: Front brake pad recommendations for an AWD with 31's

I upgraded to the 4x4 pickup pads. They're about 20% larger and install without any mods in the stock calipers. I always use Wagner brake parts. The part number is: MX52. Semi metallic.

Re: Blower motor noise only on high speed

Take the motor out and hook it up directly to the battery. If it hums you will know it's the motor. If not then it's the housing.

Re: Radiator drain plug?

The drain is a pain in the butt. If I remember right it is on the right side. I don't think the shroud needs to be removed. The cooler you mention is for the power steering.

Speed sensor. It's on the extension housing of the transmission.

Did you put a roller cam in or a flat tappet cam with roller lifters?
