2004 engine cover removal?

Post by rpjn59 »

O.K., this seems silly, but I cannot get the darn engine cover out of the way on my 2004 Astro van. I can get the whole thing loose and move it side to side, but it will not fit out between the seats and the dash, and yes, I have the seats all the way back. What the heck am I missing here. ](*,)

Hey, a late thanks for your reply, I didn't realise that my email notifications was turned off. So, you have to remove the passenger seat, that seems like an asinine design for a vehicle that's been in production this long, jeez...

I've done it without, but then you still don't have room to work

Unbolting the seat takes 5 mins at most with the right tools, and you shouldn't need to get in there very often. I think I did twice in 175,000 km.
