New head unit installation help

Today i got my new head unit intend to install it this weekend at work i know there was a post before with the information to help but it seems to have gone *pooof* it's dvd/nav system so any advice is appriciated this will be my first time installing a head unit
I'll be crawling http://www.the12volt.com all tonight and tommorow to attemp to aid in the install

so only wire i haven't seen info on is power side of the parking brake switch and the reverse light leads.... where are they under the dash....

ok so i got it installed for the most part but something is wrong my parking brake used put a little icon up on my dash now it does not where is the parking brake switch if i don't get it working some functions on the dvd player wont work

I'm really not sure how to help you do it right as I don't have the DVD function, the safety feature is a PITA. But if it was me, I'd be looking more around the net for the techniques to skip the parking break all together and ground it out so it'll work all the time. At one point I had some links saved on it, but I've lost them since (new computer). ](*,)

From what I understand this is getting harder to do though, especially if it's a very late model unit.

oh i figured out yesterday how to get all the functions on the dvd player to work without the parking brake on. but the dash light telling my when my parking brake is on or not still hasn't lit up i'm going to try to tinker with it after i clean the horrible mess i made in it yesterday. i'm thinking when i tried to attach the dvd player to it i might have severed it (at least that's the most plausable thought i've had so far)
