You might want to skip the starting fluid on engines with a Mass Air Flow Sensor. It can have very bad after effects. Don't ask me how I know, #-o

thank you gentlemen, for all your help. I never would have thought that a blown alternator would keep the engine from running, but replacing it did the trick, now I have no worries. No codes, no hesitation, back to running great.
