ANyone ever use air shocks?

Post by markmitchinnh »

I was just curious as to how they feel, my rear springs sag and was thinking of installing air shocks to level the van out front to rear.

Darren uses them in his van for towing. I also used a set on both the front and rear of the SPB. The rears were fine, a little floaty but not bad. The fronts were horrible. It floated like a butterfly but never stung like a bee! ](*,)

I've had them on the "Smilievan" for 6 years. No problems.......I like them just fine.

I installed a set of AIR LIFT air bags with the onboard compressor and love the set up. The are small bags that help level the van and don't stiffen the ride when your running empty. I just hit the button on the dash and adjust the pressure to where I want. When I am driving with just the seats in I run 20psi to level the back end out. When I put the travel trailer on (4500lbs gvw) I run them at about 85psi and the van rides nice and level it gets rid of body roll. I also hooked both bags together so they are on 1 channel and fill evenly. That way you will not get any weird ride charecteristics if one bag has a slow leak they will go down together so things might get soft but not dangerous.

AirRide air bags in the rear to fix soft stock suspension.
Onboard aircompressor to make it all work nice.

OK I installed them, now my (vans) back end sits approximately 1/2 inch higher then the front.
