A/C compressor + power steering pump bracket

Post by MountainManJoe »

On later models you need to loosen this to access one of the intake manifold bolts. My hanes manual says the bracket will slide forward enough so you can access the front manifold bolt. I think I took two long bolts and one nut out of the bracket, but it's not sliding. I was able to pry it away with my hands a quarter inch or so, enough to remove the manifold. But assembly is more finicky so I'd rather have it properly out of the way. Is there a trick to freeing this beastie?

Sounds like you missed a bolt. And I agree....it would be easier to remove it altogether.

removing it altogether involved removing the pump pulley, which I don't wanna do. But it worked out anyway. If you pull hard on the bracket it gives you enough room to work with.
