No lift. Best tire?

2005 Astro (16" wheel).

The plan WAS to do a 2" Overland lift and change up to a 235/70 R16.

But after driving a few hundred miles of interstate this past weekend, I want to shy away from a lift. The van is already a gas hog, and it takes full attention to keep in the lane (compared to my little Toyota compact). Plus, the RZR is my off-road fun (so towing performance is more important than off-road capability). I only need to make it up bumpy gravel fire/logging roads with the Astro to camp.

So the new thinking to NOT lift and instead stay with the stock 215/70 R16 tire size.

Any thoughts on the best all-terrain tire?
Any thoughts on an ever-so-slight tire size increase (235/65R16)?

Any input would be much appreciated.
