Re: Project unfinished business 92 shorty
Ok so it was been a while. A long while. But life happens and projects get pushed back. I won't get into all that but I'm happy to say that the project is moving again. This is what it looked like when we drug it out to keep the project moving.
The body work is all finished now. The roof was the last of the bodywork.
The roof was also the first panel to get paint. Makes it easier to do the rest of the truck when the roof is already done.
Now that the roof is done the doors and fenders come off and we start cutting in the jambs and under hood.
Excited now tht we have color and things are getting sprayed. Stay tuned. Hoping to have it done this summer.

I bet you thought this project was dead, honestly I did for a while. Life got in the way and I put it on the back burner but she's back. My buddy cut in the doors and jambs this week. Should have the grey lower paint done in the next week or so.
Re: Project unfinished business 92 shorty

It's good to be back on it. Now that it has color on it I'm excited again.
It's tough to get the color to show in pics but here's a look at the grey.
All taped up and ready to paint.

Re: Project unfinished business 92 shorty
Guess who's back! Sorry guys the progress has been real slow for a while, but such is life sometimes. Covid is kinda responsible for getting things rolling again. My buddy got laid off because of the pandemic, and as such had time on his hands to get back into the paint shop and make the magic happen. First we layed down the Corvette Cyber Grey Metallic.
This included cutting in the doors and door jambs.
Next it was time for the Lexus Ultrasonic Blue Metallic
We finished the underhood metal and neutralized the minimal surface rust (Florida Van) with Por 15.
While this was going on I also replaced the lower and middle door slides on the side with new ones for an ultra smooth sliding door.
Also took the opportunity to rewrap the wires coming into the doors with Tessa Tape instead of the old nasty electrical tape. Fixed loose connections and made the wiring nice and neat again.
Also replaced all the rubber door seals with new soft stuff from Steele Rubber. Can't have old moldings on fresh paint.
Next up is finish the two tone, paint the grille surround, body kit and wheels and reassemble. With my friend back to work the progress will be slower but I plan on keeping my foot on the gas to get the paint finished. Thanks for taking the time to check it out.
